To all County Bowlers
After recieving e/mails and talking to County Secretary's all games at the back end of the season having been cancelled are asking for them to be rolled over until 2021. I have now decided to cancell all County games for 2020 and to roll over to 2021. I have also had six games at the front end of the season asking to roll over to 2021
Following a committee meeting yesterday evening (19th March), it was decided to cancel all City & County individual competitions for this season. A decision regarding the Clarence Davey and Clarence Davey Plate competitions will be made in a couple of months when we know how this dreadful situation has developed.
It is not currently proposed to refund individuals competition fees due mainly to the logistics of such a task. Instead, they will go towards next year’s competitions. We hope everyone will understand this decision.
Also, all City and County matches are postponed until the end of July when the situation will be reviewed.
Those club’s which were not able to collect their handbooks from St Anne's yesterday, will be able to collect them from Henleaze BC tomorrow morning where the Gloucestershire BA books will also be available.
On behalf of the President and all members of the Management Committee, we wish you all well and hope you all stay fit and healthy, ready for when we can start playing, and open club’s bars, so that some much needed income can be generated.
Your County needs your support
Since 1935 this association has been the figurehead for bowlers in the Bristol region. Our aim is always to promote and foster the game of bowls through the organisation of local competitions and competitive games against other County Associations.
Like many other County Associations we have in recent years experienced the reluctance of people to join our committees and to help in its organisation.
County Secretary & Assistant Secretary.
This essential role organises the internal activities of the Association and is our main link to Bowls England and clubs in the Bristol area.
If you are interested in playing a part, however small, in the future of this Association please contact Roger Trueman (email@example.com) or inform your Club's Chairman/Delegate. Without your help this Association could cease operating.
