The City & County of Bristol BA has a legal and moral duty to protect the data of our affiliated clubs.

The GDPR became enforceable from 25th May 2018.

It replaced the Data Protection Act 1998 and covers the storage and use of ‘Personal Data’.

Personal data is defined as any piece of personal information that can be used to identify an individual, either directly or indirectly.

This includes information such as an Club/County contact details, name, email address, telephone number and address data.
(This is not a fully inclusive list).

In terms of sharing data with other Club/County contact details, name, email address, telephone number and address data are subject to consent.

This is agreed by way of the club affiliation form. 

No other sensitive information is shared without separate agreement.

We align the GDPR policy to Bowls England and Government advice.

The affiliation master list is held and maintained by the Secretary.

We will send circular emails by blind copy.

We will not share affiliation information with third parties.

We will ensure that parents or official guardians accept receipt of information on behalf of children (aged under 18)
In accordance with Bowls England’s Safeguarding Bowls Policy.

We will delete clubs information should they leave the Association.
